I'm a cop; an investigator to be more precise. I've been in the job for nearly 15 years and in that time, I've developed a "talent" (for lack of a better word) of being able to read folks. I can tell by a person's actions, mannerisms or statements what, to a certain degree, is rolling around in their heads. No, I'm not psychic and I have no doubt I'm not the smartest kid in class. But, to my credit, I tend to be right more often than I am wrong.
That said, I've been watching/reading/listening to the Liberal response to the Sarah Palin announcement. From the initial "hair trigger" response from the Obama/Biden camp to the purely spiteful, venomous lobs from the Daily Kos and their ilk, I have surmised what perhaps is obvious to everyone; the Left is scared.
A common response from a suspect being interviewed about a crime is to denegrate or somehow lessen the victim/accusor. They often insult, make false accusations and flat out lie in order to take the heat off of them. Now, I realize that this may not be a completely appropriate analogy, but I think we can work with it.
Want another analogy? How about kicking the top of an ant hill and watching all the residents scurry about and start biting blindly at anything they find? Yeah. I like that one better.
